His younger sister, Michelle, is a single mother of social-worker daughter Andrea Martino. Jelena came to Sydney as a child with her Croatian parents, Silvija and Drazan Dragicevic, and has a younger brother, Niko who is divorced from his ex-wife, Freny, who is of Parsi heritage. Freny and children, Sam and Leah live in Perth. Niko has only just moved back to Sydney and is currently staying at his sister’s house, in Alex’s bedroom, while he finds his own place. Niko is bisexual. Marco is an engineer of sorts and Jelena is a high school English teacher. Marco and Jelena sought fertility treatment after they produced no children. The results were twins Alex and Melanie. Melanie is studying nutrition at University of Sydney. Marco’s parents owned an immensely successful Italian restaurant which made them wealthy in their old age. Tony passed away in 2001 and Maria passed away in January 2008, leaving an inheritance to their two children and three grandchildren.

Personal History: Alex grew up with in Sydney’s inner-west. When his parents bought a Kawai, Alex became attached to it and showed incredible talent. Alex passed his A.Mus.A with distinction in year 8 and his L.Mus.A in year 11. Alex finished school, got glandular fever, missed his audition for the Sydney Conservatorium and turned 18 all in November 2007. Alex studied French at school and can understand and speak a little bit of Italian. His paternal grandmother passed away in January 08 and left some money to him most of which is in term deposits. Alex began performing in pubs, cafés and restaurants as well as at retirement homes and community centres and in piano competitions. In April, after auditioning for the Royal College of Music, he left for Italy by himself. He then travelled in Italy, France and Spain until he arrived in London in July.
