Family History (About Character's Parents and siblings): Matt's father, Donald Orvis, started his professional career as a stable boy and later, a jockey at Fox Hollies stable. He went on to become Champion Jockey in his first year. A year later, however, he had a serious accident, forcing him to resign his career in sports. While in hospital, he met a young nurse, Jennifer Rachels, the two began dating and soon married.
Matt's parents immigrated to the US from England in early 1970s. Following the birth of her children, Jennifer became a stay-at-home mom while Matt's dad made a little fortune in the insurance industry. The couple decided to move back to England a few years ago where Donald reinvested his capital in a horse racing partnership, now owning one of the most prominent teams in Britain.
Matt's brothers, Timothy and Justin decided to stay behind in the US, which has caused a rift between them and their older brother, who chose to follow his parents to England.
Personal History: Born in Hartford, CT. Graduated from MIT with a bachelors and masters in Computer Science and IT management. Phi Beta Kappa - elected to nation's oldest academic fraternity in first year of eligibility.
